Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter Scholarship For CRE Chapter Members Pursuing CCIM Designation

The Greater El Paso CCIM Scholarship was created to support a GEP CCIM Chapter paid member during the year in which the applicant seeks scholarship funds who is also a Candidate Member with CCIM National Institute pursuing CCIM designation. Preference is given for classes taken in our El Paso market and to those applications who serve on or commit to serving on a Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter Committee. The scholarship recipient receives up to $1,800.00 - $900.00 after successfully completing two (2) CI Core Courses within the past 18-month period ($450.00 each course) and an additional $900.00 for the two (2) remaining CI Core Courses ($450.00 each course). There are two (2) scholarship application submission periods each year. The first deadline is no later than March 31st with scholarship recipient notification no later than April 15th and the second deadline is no later than August 31st with scholarship recipient notification no later than September 15th. GEP CCIM Chapter Named Education Scholarships (NES) for CRE Chapter Members Pursuing CCIM Designation    

The GEP CCIM Chapter offers two (2) NES (below) for commercial real estate professionals in their pursuit of earning the CCIM Designation, including: the Ruben Schaeffer, Sr., CCIM Endowed Scholarship, and the Carleen R. Barth, CCIM Endowed Scholarship. Each of these scholarships honors those that have shown great dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement, and service to the commercial real estate industry. These scholarships were made possible by the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. The Ruben Schaeffer Sr., CCIM NES was created in 2017 honoring Mr. Schaeffer as a past member of the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter and the Carleen R. Barth, CCIM NES was created in 2020 honoring her commitment in partnership with the Institute's University Alliance program to establish UTEP's Woody L. Hunt College of Business Administration's Real Estate Minor Program The scholarship recipient for each of these NES receives $1,000 to offset the cost of one of the following CCIM designation courses: CI 101, CI 102, CI 103, or CI 104. The deadline for scholarship application submission for each of these separate NES is May 1st. Applications are to be sent to and received by the Greater El Paso  CCIM Chapter by the deadline of May 1st. Applicants are encouraged to apply to both of these separate scholarships, however, applicants who apply to both scholarships may only be awarded one of the two scholarships, as may to be determined by the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter. Ruben Schaeffer Sr., CCIM Endowed Scholarship for CRE Chapter Members Pursuing CCIM Designation

The Ruben Schaeffer, Sr. Endowed Scholarship honors Ruben Schaeffer Sr., CCIM as a past member of the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter. The Ruben Schaeffer, Sr. CCIM Endowed Scholarship was created in 2017 in El Paso, Texas by the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. Named endowed scholarships honor those who have shown great dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement, and service to the commercial real estate industry. Carleen R. Barth, CCIM Endowed Scholarship for CRE Chapter Members Pursuing CCIM Designation

The Carleen R. Barth, CCIM Endowed Scholarship honors Carleen R. Barth, CCIM and her commitment in partnership with the Institute's University Alliance program to establish UTEP's Woody L. Hunt College of Business Administration's Real Estate Minor Program. The GEP CCIM Chapter also offers two (2) NES (below) for current UTEP Woody L. Hunt College of Business Administration students in their pursuit of earning their Real Estate Minor, including: the Jerry Rubin Endowed Scholarship and the Bob Ayoub Endowed Scholarship. Both of these scholarships were made possible by generous donations from the El Paso CRE industry with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. Each of these scholarships are intended to support University of Texas at El Paso College of Business majors in their efforts to pursue the Minor in CRE. Recipient should exemplify the highest caliber of student, and an intent to enter the CRE industry is preferred but not required. Applicants should have an interest in participating in and/or volunteering for the various Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter annual activities via committee involvement. The scholarship recipient receives $1,000.00 to offset the cost of a course in the UTEP COBA Minor in CRE. Deadline for submission to the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter for this scholarship is May 1st with scholarship recipient notification no later than May 15th. Jerry Rubin Endowed Scholarship for UTEP COBA Students Pursuing CRE Minor

The Jerry Rubin Endowed Scholarship was made possible by a generous donation from River Oaks Properties in the El Paso CRE industry with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. This scholarship is intended to support University of Texas at El Paso College of Business majors in their efforts to pursue the Minor in CRE. Recipient should exemplify the highest caliber of student, and an intent to enter the CRE industry is preferred but not required. Applicants should have an interest in participating in and/or volunteering for the various Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter annual activities via committee involvement. The scholarship recipient receives $1,000.00 to offset the cost of a course in the UTEP COBA Minor in CRE. Bob Ayoub Endowed Scholarship for UTEP COBA Students Pursuing CRE Minor

The Bob Ayoub Endowed Scholarship was made possible by a generous donation from MIMCO in the El Paso CRE industry with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. This scholarship is intended to support University of Texas at El Paso College of Business majors in their efforts to pursue the Minor in CRE. Recipient should exemplify the highest caliber of student, and an intent to enter the CRE industry is preferred but not required. Applicants should have an interest in participating in and/or volunteering for the various Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter annual activities via committee involvement. Pinning Scholarships

In 2023, the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter is offering a $1,000 pinning scholarship to the first five (5) individuals who become CCIM Designees by completing the requirements set forth by the CCIM Institute to become a designee.  These scholarships will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.  Individuals can elect to sit for the comprehensive exam in April in Boston, or in October in Seattle in order to obtain their CCIM Designation in 2023. Cultural Diversity Scholarship

CCIM Institute's Cultural Diversity Education Program (CDEP) is committed to advancing the professional growth of underrepresented groups in the commercial real estate industry. Qualified applicants will learn the CCIM approach to investment strategy, financial analysis, and market analysis.

Since its inception, more than 1,500 students in the program have completed one of our two-day introductory courses, and some have gone on to earn the CCIM Designation. Learn more here: CDEP.

Approved participants receive:

  • A $100 discount on tuition for the Foundations for Success in Commercial Real Estate Course, available in classroom or online;* and
  • A discounted tuition price of $915 on each CCIM core course (CI 101-104).*

*Note: Discounts are not applied to prior coursework completed before application approval.

Veteran Scholarship

Established in 2020, the CCIM Foundation Veterans Scholarship Program gives back to the brave men and women who have served the United States by offering educational funding to pursue a new career in the dynamic commercial real estate industry. Qualifying U.S. military veterans can apply for up to $20,000 to use for non-degree-based commercial real estate education, including certification programs through National Association of REALTORS® affiliate organizations, including CCIM Institute, IREM, and SIOR.

To be eligible, you must be a U.S. military veteran who meets all the following criteria:
This is a two-part application process. The first requires upload of applicant’s DD214 and successful completion of the Foundations for Success in Commercial Real Estate course. The second requires completion of three essay questions and upload of three professional reference letters. The CCIM Foundation will review and select scholarship recipients from all qualified submissions. The application process may include a phone interview. Recipients of the CCIM Foundation awards will be notified within 45 days of the application submission deadline. Once awarded, recipients have four years to access the scholarship funds.
