Carleen R. Barth Scholarship Endowment

The Carleen R. Barth, CCIM Scholarship was created to support UTEP College of Business majors in their efforts to pursue the Minor in Commercial Real Estate. Recipient should exemplify the highest caliber of student, and an intent to enter the commercial real estate industry is preferred but not required. Applicants should have an interest in participating in and/or volunteering for the various Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter annual activities via committee involvement.

About the Greater El Paso Chapter

The Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, and is the local liaison and host for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), National Institute. The Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter provides networking, education and technology opportunities to local commercial real estate individuals and entities.

About CCIM foundation

The CCIM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Mission of the CCIM Foundation is to advance and foster commercial real estate education through scholarships, programs and initiatives.

Program Guidelines

The Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter honors and supports the new Minor in Commercial Real Estate at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and in doing so created the Carleen R. Barth, CCIM Scholarship Endowment in 2021.

Scholarship
Selection Criteria

Includes the following:

• Each applicant should be able to demonstrate a commitment to entering the business industry; a
desire to enter the commercial real estate industry is preferred but not required (demonstrate in
essay questions below).

• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, must be a declared major with the
UTEP College of Business Administration (COBA), and must declare the Commercial Real Estate
(CRE) minor with UTEP COBA.

• Successful Completion of the course with a C grade (2.00) will be required of the recipient. The
recipient acknowledges that failure to produce a C grade (2.00) or better will be at risk for having
the scholarship funds rescinded.

Scholarship
Value

Recipient will receive $1,000 to offset the cost of a course in the UTEP COBA Minor in Commercial Real Estate.

Procedure

Applications are submitted directly to the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter scholarship representative Elizabeth S. Pulido, CCIM at elpasoccim@gmail.com. Please use this subject line for your submission: 2021 UTEP/CCIM Scholarship Application. Applicants must also submit a copy of their unofficial UTEP transcript in PDF format, saved directly from Goldmine (https://www.goldmine.utep.edu).

The deadline for Carleen R. Barth Scholarship endowment is May 1st. 

Notifications will be sent from the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter and/or The University of Texas at El Paso on or before May 15th
